Set in the rugged peaks of the Pacific Northwest, Uncertain Ice follows a team of committed researchers as they study and document the melting glaciers of the North Cascades, one of the last truly wild places in the United States. Each of these glaciers tells a unique story of adventure, geology, and history. Some glaciers have been keys to wild exploration, others the basis for scientific understanding of climate change. Against the backdrop of old pines, granite peaks, and icy crevasses, Mauri Pelto and his team reveal what exactly the future holds for the glaciers and in turn for us.
